Top 10 folding bike accessories

Ensuring your Brompton is upgradeable and adaptable is at the heart of what we do. Like you, your bike is filled with potential, and adding some folding bike accessories can be the key to unlocking it. 

There are a lot of brilliant Brompton folding bike accessories to choose from. We’ve selected ten of our favourites, which between them cover everything from making your bike more comfortable to enabling you to take it abroad.

The Borough is our most popular bag. The size medium has a capacity of 14 litres, with separate compartments for keeping things organised. There is also a padded laptop sleeve for extra protection. 

It slots into the front luggage adaptor and will sit securely on the front of your bike while you’re zipping about. It’s available in three sizes and can be carried with a single shoulder strap when you aren’t cycling. 

The Borough Waterproof is, you guessed it, a more waterproof version of the Borough. It is made with waterproof materials, and has an air release valve. The zesty orange lining adds a hit of brightness on rainy days. 

Regular Borough models are not compatible with Brompton Electric bikes, unfortunately, due to the differing shape of the handlebars – which is where the Brompton Electric basket bag steps in. 

Executed in classy dark grey, it’s like a contemporary take on the wicker front bicycle basket. With plenty of capacity to pack all you need and an integrated shoulder strap for carrying off-the-bike, it’s all you need to get to your destination at speed.

Note. Your bike must have the front luggage adaptor in order to use Brompton bags. This feature comes as standard on most of our bikes, and can be added easily to those that don’t have it. 

We offer one for our bikes with 16” wheels – A, C, P and T Line – and another dedicated just to the G Line. 

The pouch is designed to fit the Brompton frame, and attaches easily with Velcro straps, requiring no screws or mounts. Inside you’ll find tools, adaptors, and a spare inner tube – ensuring you're prepared for any ride.

We worked with Quad Lock® to develop a sleek, well-integrated mount so that Brompton riders can easily click their phone into position on the centre of the bars. We should say, to use our mount requires you to either have your phone in a Quad Lock® case, or to use a universal adaptor to add a Quad Lock® fitting to the back of your own case.

We sell our phone mounts with or without this universal adaptor, so you have greater flexibility in choosing how you want to set up your bike. 

Like a Brompton-specific Swiss Army knife, it’s a light, compact package that fits snugly inside the front half of the frame of all A Line, C Line and P Line bikes. 

The toolkit doesn’t fit inside G Line or T Line models – or Brompton bikes built before 2004 – because of differences in the frame design. However, it’s small enough to sit in a jacket pocket, or in one of our Brompton pouches.

There are two versions of the bottle base. The ‘uni base’ fixes with two secure straps and can be used with the full range of Brompton bikes. The ‘bike base’ is a little bit more solid, attaching to the bottle mounts on the G Line’s handlebar support. 

This is a particularly great product to go with the G Line because of the longer rides you can take on with the bike’s off-road capability. Especially bikepacking, where you may need to carry your drinking water with you as you head off into the wilds.

It has a 600ml capacity, and can be stored on your bike even when folded.

It’s a neat and easy way to expand what you can do with you Brompton, supporting our ambition to simplify your life in as many ways as we can. 

We make one roller rack that works with all bikes using the Advance rear frame design: P Line, Electric P Line, T Line, and 4 and 12-speed C Line and Electric C Line models.

Then for you off-roaders, we offer a rear rack just for the G Line. It’s the same idea, just rejigged to work with the G Line frame. 

Our Be Seen lights are designed to help other people see you in low-light conditions. The pack features a front (white, 26 lumens) and rear (red, lumens) light, and they are nicely compact and bright. They come in a G Line-specific version too. 

Both versions of the Be Seen light are rechargeable with a micro USB fitting.  

To illuminate more of the road – particularly in ill-lit areas or on country lanes without street lighting – you will want something with more oomph. 

We worked with CatEye to develop a powerful front light capable of emitting 500 lumens of light. It attaches to your bike above the wheel, giving strong illumination on the path ahead as well as side visibility.

It recharges with micro USB and doesn’t need to be removed when you fold the bike. 

Whether your bike is brand new and you want to give it some personalised flair, or you’ve had it for a while and it’s time for a glow-up – these packs of components are the perfect way to add some sparkle. 

The pack contains five items, including new aluminium roller wheels and an anti-rotation clamp plate. You can choose from red, gold, pink and silver – and the packs are compatible with A, C, and P Lines.
